    On August 27th, the gravitational pull of Jupiter will cause Mars to be dragged closer to the earth than it has been in over 5000 years. To the naked eye, Mars will be almost equal in size to the moon. Keep your kids up for this one. It isn't scheduled to happen again until 2287!

    I know meteors aren't the same thing, but August will be a wonderful opportunity to view them. We have already planned a night under the skies for DD. Pumping up the mattress and laying out in the backyard waiting to catch the show. I just hope the weather cooperates with us.
