Does anyone have any recommendations of psychologists who do a good job testing highly gifted children on tests such as the WISC? We live near Portland, Oregon, so ideally we'd like to find someone in Oregon.

We had our DS7 tested a couple of years ago, but the psychologist selected a poor test to use and also made a mistake while testing him. So I really don't want to spend the money testing him again unless it is for someone who is really good.

(I already looked on the Hoagies website and there wasn't anyone listed from Oregon on there.)

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello, I know of a place called Education Soaring in Portland, they do testing as well as offer other services for gifted children. We don't live in Portland now but we used to and have been trying to move back. I have spoken to the woman who runs it and she was very helpful. Let's see if I can manage a link. wink

In the Seattle area you can find many testers that are experienced with HG+ children. If you don't find anybody closer by you can look them by going through the gifted schools in the area (find in Hoagies). they all list testers that current families have used, not endorsed by the schools, just a list of testers that have tested current students.

Thanks for your suggestions, Mam and limonata. They are helpful!

Mam, have you worked with someone in the Seattle area that you recommend?
