I see so many threads with questions about testing and what the results mean?
Dd goes in today for testing (WISC IV)....do the testers not go over the scores with you so that you know what they mean? I sure hope they do because otherwise how would you decipher all that "code"?

Apparently it varies tremendously. Some just give results with not even a write up. Around here, all testers do include a written report with explanations. Still, some of those are not in depth enough.

Be prepared with your own questions. When are you going to get results? For the one tester, we sat down a week or so after the test and she explained some of the things. That is when she gave us our report.

The other tester, briefly went over them right after they took the test, and then sent in a detailed report. By then, I knew enough about the Weschler test that I did not need the test explanations, but just how the kids had done.

Our tester spoke with us right after the test for about fifteen minutes with his initial thoughts, then sent us an in depth report a few weeks later. We also had several questions and he was in contact with us via email several times after that.
