Grinity-
Sigh... I remember leaving a few school meetings with that heavy feeling. Oldest DS had all sorts of issues that seemed to overshadow his giftedness. In first grade, he was obsessed with battles and drew pictures with dozens of tiny stick men launching attacks and blowing things up. We had to attend a special meeting to discuss why he didn't draw flowers and kitty cats like the other kids. In sixth grade, he tried to kid around with a girl the way the other boys did, and she socked him in the stomach. He was disciplined the same as she was, because he insulted her. I didn't think that was fair.
I hope things are looking rosier today. How is ds feeling?
