Art of Problem Solving Lecture I haven't listened to this talk yet. But someone posted at the WTM board that this was in the lecture:
They had applied for a grant from the dept of education and this is the response they received:

skills of high-performing students are surely every-day
objectives of those who teach such students, it is not a problem,
relatively speaking, of major import in American education.�
