Thx everyone. We're feeling the love. (Dottie, glad to be fellow Pennsylvanians...I shall look forward to meeting you one day!)

Congrats! Are they allowing newbies to register for this year's summit? I know that the deadline has passed for most of us, but in past years they did permit newbies to register late.

I was wondering about that and where the summit is being held. We will have to ask those questions...being newbies!

Congratulations!
DS5 was accepted after the deadline about a month ago. We were given an option to sign him up for the Summit. Unfortunately we aren't able to make it this year. I was so looking forward to having both of the kids there and not having to keep the younger one busy while the older one was at the Summit.

That's one thing I am very happy about this year! Since dd5 is now a YS, we're finally at the point where all of our kids are in the program. It can be very tough having a little one along who isn't permitted to take part in DYS sponsored meals, the game room, etc. I can certainly understand the desire to have seminars exclusive to DYS kids, but I wish siblings were welcome to the non-academic activities. That's my one gripe against DYS, and I mention it to them every year.

Can I jump in and ask a question?
Do you have to meet all of the minimum criteria to get an acceptance to Davidson?
For instance, I have a boy (age 5) who has the achievement numbers in reading (standard score 146). But doesn't have the IQ numbers. His VCI and Full Scale are 139.
The PR came back at 133. The "bummer" part of this number is he started not feeling well during one of the tests "picture concepts and got a score of 10 (50%), while his block design was 19 (99%). So, I'm wondering if the final numbers were "thrown off" by the picture concept number. The tester even indicated in her notes that he wasn't feeling well.
I'm guessing I shouldn't bother with trying to submit to Davidson, but I was just hoping someone could confirm that thought with me.

Dottie and Make A Wish: DI posted this link on their FB page: http://print.ditd.org/Overview_Brochure/Davidson_Institute_Overview_Brochure.pdfIf you look on the page for DYS the say the minimum requirement is qualifying IQ score and/OR qualifying achievement score and now they are only asking for one letter of recommendation! I don't know Make a Wish, you may consider submitting with some supporting evidence, like a portfolio. I'd follow your gut on this one. Did the whole reading portion put him at 99.9th %? I agree with Dottie on this one, though, also. I think a better picture comes into focus as they get older and establish a pattern of performance. Neato

I was thinking that with an full scale IQ 139 it may be possible to have a qualifying GIA. Has all the info been shared. (If it wasn't for Dotti I would of thought DS didn't qualify because GIA was not in our report)

Thanks for everyone's help. It was the WPPSI. Why does the WPPSI require a 150? I thought the numbers were the same between WISC and WPPSI. Does this mean a 139 really isn't a 139 (it is actually lower?) Or, is the 139 a stable score? I guess I don't get all this.
He was in the 99.5% for VCI and Full Scale, 99.3 in PR). But, I believe Davidson wants 99.8 or 99.9.) I don't think I'll bother with submitting at this time.
I'm in that frustrating stage of things with this. School agrees he is bright, but doesn't think he needs accommodating. It is important to learn those ABCs and shapes the correct way--"he might have learned the alphabet sounds incorrectly"-- which is sure to hurt him later if not corrected now.
