My ds9 loves this book by Bernard Evslin, 'Heroes, Gods and Monsters of Greek Mythology'. I noticed there are others on the scholastic website from the same author; has anyone checked these out? Actually it looks like he has a ton of books, which might be best to follow up on Heroes.. ?

    thanks

My DS9 hasn't read any books by Evslin, but I mentioned it to him last night and he seemed very intrigued. He read all the Percy Jackson's and is fascinated with mythology. We are hitting the library this weekend to check out the Evslin books.

Quick question...what is the "Heroes" you mentioned? Is it a book series? We are always on the lookout for good series that will hopefully take longer than two weeks to get through!

Yes, I got the one at the second hand book store after ds raced through the Percy Jackson series. Heroes - I was just referring back to the book 'Heroes, Gods, etc.' I mentioned above.

I usually shy away from rewrites for kids, but the greek myths, well I'm not sure he'll be up to reading the original Odyssey for a while, even if it is translated into English! so these Evslin books look good for that. Seem to cover a range of grade levels.
