DS7's class is having a 100th day of school party on Friday. They are supposed to wear something with 100 of something on it and bring 100 of some food item for trail mix. So what am I doing now? Waiting for the paint on one side of his shirt to dry so I can finish this project--I am painting 100 multiplication problems on his shirt, from 1x1 to 100x100.

Yes, I should probably let him paint the shirt instead. However, perfectionist that I am, I couldn't grit my teeth hard enough when he took the paint and started a division problem in the middle of all my nice multiplication problems! Arrrgh! And then he painted 8x9=72, which doesn't fit with the theme. So now we're going to have a shirt with 102 problems on it, 101 of which are multiplication and 100 of which fit the theme. And it's just going to have to be ok, dangit. smile

Yeah, we fit the description too.

In July the school has a 10 day skiing excursion to New Zealand. I thought DS would jump at the chance to go and DH and I would go to the warmer climes of tropical Queensland. Sounds great doesn't it??
But noooooooooo........DS has chosen to go to the Mathematics residential school at the university. No prizes for guessing where I'll be!grin

My ds6 came home from school yesterday and said, "Mom, did you know some people think if you're really smart that you're a nerd?!" He was shocked! I said, "yeah, that doesn't make any sense? Where would we all be without smart people?" He said, "Mom, what's a pocket protector?" So, I explained, and his reply? "If I had a pocket on my shirt, I'd love a pocket protector. I would put 5 pens in it!" I don't know about me, but he's definitely a nerd! LOL

Well, that seems reasonable to me...if you had 5 pens in your pocket, you'd certainly want a pocket protector, and if you had a pocket protector you'd certainly want to fill it up and it should hold about 5 pens, so it works all the way around! smile

Ok, I finished the shirt...is it possible to post pictures in here? I've never seen any....

I wish we could post pics, because I would love to see the finished shirt. Glad to see I'm not the only one who would freak out if said child tried to jump in and change the whole concept. Having a child has really shined a light on my own perfectionism and yes I knew I was a perfectionist but having to try to tame it for her sake is hard, but something I really need to do because I'm certainly not helping DD's perfection.
