Thank you, Grinity. It's lovely to feel so welcomed!

We've unfortunately gone up the chain on two separate occasions this school year to no avail. The funny thing is, the only prerequisite these "advanced" classes have is to be at least in 9th gr. Doesn't make much sense to me. I'm starting to think we should be looking into true homeschooling and dump the charter.

CFK- Thanks for your input. I do need to find out one way or another if he could test out or not. His "teacher" doesn't know, so I've scheduled an appt. with the guidance counselor in March. He normally only deals with 9-12 students, so I'm not holding my breath! Why does this have to be so difficult???

    axaca,
Have you looked into K12 International Academy, it is a private school, but they are K-12th grade, and they have been amazing in the rapid and appropriate acceleration of my PG DD.

I wonder whether you could get some financial assistance from DYS (once he's been a member long enough) to apply for Stanford's Online HS or some of the Art of Problem Solving online classes: http://www.artofproblemsolving.com/Classes/AoPS_C_About.php
