I'm new to this forum and very glad I found it. My DS, age 5.3, is in Kindergarten this year at our local public elementary school. It is going very well. His teacher recommended I look for some math websites on-line to really challenge him. I came across EPGY and before I commit to the fees for the classes I wanted some feedback from people who have started this a the K level.

His teacher this year says he is a super star in math and told me he needed more of a challenge if he was going to continue enjoying school. So here I am looking at EPGY and hope someone can give me some guidance.

    Specific questions I have are...
    Is it worth it?
Do most school districts recognize advanced achievement through EPGY transcripts?
How often will my son need to be doing the classes? Everyday? Four times a week for 20 minutes? It appears that it is go at your own pace format for the younger grades, which I like.
He has taken the WPPSI-III and the Woodcock-Johnson within the last year and his scores were high, but I don't know the cutoff.
I think EPGY has their own on-line acceptance exam which I know my son would love to take. Can anyone tell me how long it is so I can give him an idea of the length of time he needs to work at it.
Any comments are most welcome and thank you!

Before you sign up via EPGY: There is a collection of people who met on this website who register for EPGY as a group, as part of a group the fees are greatly reduced. I don't believe there is anything specific needed to join the group here, it's various ages, etc. But if I am recalling correctly, there are minor differences from regular EPGY such as not having access to a human instructor directly but rather going through the group coordinator for questions. I'm afraid I don't know much more about it as my DS is just 2.6 so I have not paid good attention to posts regarding it. I'm sure someone else who is a participant will add some more details shortly.

This is very helpful. I'm going to contact the coordinator, Melissa. Thank you!

We are using EPGY with my son (almost 5 1/2 now but we started in Oct) through Open Enrollment via our school district. It is WELL worth it and DS seems to enjoy it. In 54 sessions he had completed all the way through 2nd grade lvl (25 sessions to finish up K/1st grade stuff).

It moves fairly quickly if they know it easily, slower if they need more help or like my DS just aren't paying attention sometimes.

He usually does 1 session a day but the last two months it's been 'spotty' on when we have him do it as well as he's been choosing to do the LAW course instead some days (language arts and writing).
