OMG it was too funny. She was reading a story and I thought she lost her place so I leaned over to see and point to where she was in the story and she said "You are bothering me. Stop that. I don't need your help. I am reading all by myself. I am learning to read, and I can read this without your help. You need to go sit over there and let me be." LMAO....and she made the cutest face wih her nose all wrinkled up. Oh I was laughing so hard and just had to share.

My DD used to do this too! I say used to because I've learned to stop "helping."

The exact same thing happened to us twice. Both times, she was reading a page in a chapter book that had a lot of lines and no pictures. I started moving my finger down the page one line at a time to "help" her keep her place, and she got thoroughly annoyed with me. She shoved my hand away and said almost exactly what your DD said (except I didn't have to move).
