DS5 got snapcircuits Jr. on his birthday this summer when he turned 5. He loved it and did all the projects. He has been wanting the upgrade kit so we got him the upgrade kit to 300 for Christmas. He does really love it and is talking about the 500 version. the only annoying thing is that when you don't get the 300 you have 2 boxes of things, that is quite annoying to me just because it seems to take him longer putting it all away. I have thought about combining them but haven't really looked into it yet.

DS6 loved his - "best Christmas present ever" - but he lost one of the single snaps (or rather, his 19-month-old brother went trapsing around the house with the parts) and he hasn't used it since, he's so freaked out about having lost the one snap. I don't think he wants to skip anything - he's going in order lol. Good point about a plastic box - duh, I should have thought of that already...

But I must thank whoever posted about it as a possible Christmas present!!

DD13 got those loast Christmas and loved them. This year she got the radioshack electronics learning lab. She seems to like it a lot too. It's a lot more advanced and practical though so maybe it's better for the older kids.

My DS7(almost 7) got the small snap circuit kit over the summer and fell in love with it and quickly completed all 100 activities so we went out and got the big box with the computer interface. He LOVES messing around with the various activities...but he has shared that he is ready to try something new...so we got the Lego Mindstorm NXT for him for his birthday next week..can't wait to see his face :-)
