    Any chance there's another med without that side affect? If so, it might be worth a trial period on a different med.

    Has he had a trial without the medicine with the doctor's approval? It is something to consider IMHO.

    Agree on seeing doctor and considering decreasing dosage or looking for alternate medication, if that could be contributing.

    If a fairly short acting medication one can research when peak levels occur and see if spaciness peaks roughly then, or in the hours after that time, also.
