Explain that it's not that you are doing any figuring out FOR him, just making sure he understands he concept to help prevent him getting frustrated with it. Not only that you'll ONLY help explain the ones that he has problems with. Hopefully that will work for him.

That's only if he is bothered by it of course! smile

Yeah. I do have trouble explaining this one to him, without pointing out the answer, its very, very tough. I think EPGY Math's, logic and reasoning is harder than any I've seen in third grade before. Having said that, it is an advanced program and it is supposed to challenge him. So I shan't complain. smile Thanks!

This sounds just like him too! I know exactly what you are saying, knowing that he is challenged in at least one area (and not struggling) is great! I'm almost certain he isn't going to be challenged with everything else, until around 5th grade, but he seems to need practice in logic and reasoning. It took him a week to get to third from K, so hopefully he will get there quickly. Thanks for your input! smile

LOL I always knew which parent to go to with my homework depending on how much effort I actually wanted to put out. Dad explained the concept, mom got fed up and gave me the answers.

Hahaha! Well despite my laziness, or incompetence, or whatever it is; I am thankful that he wouldn't deliberately seek me (or anyone) out to give him the answer.
