So a student who gets >90% say on the pretest can't jump ahead and take the final test...skipping any assignments in between?

Example: For spelling you give the spelling pretest. If the kid gets >80% (I think) you can skip the worksheets.

We took several placement tests to determine appropriate placement. I do not want to accelerate beyond 1 year as the writing demands really increase. I also want to give him plenty of time to play and do whatever it is he wants to pursure. I think Grinity put it well in another post somewhere about too much acceleration. So he could probably advance even more for a better placement(which the school is EXCELLENT on doing) but I would rather have some 'easy' subjects for DS7 right now.
