What kinds of information are helpful in the preschool application essay process? The question is, "Please describe below the characteristics and behaviors your child has demonstrated which you think might indicate advanced intellectual potential and ability." Should I focus on characteristics that are more applicable for a school setting, or social interactions, or just what Mommy thinks? smile What will the reviewer be looking for? Thanks for any advice!

I would just be honest as to his/her early milestones, what he/she has accomplished so far. His/her being curious and creative would be something that a truly gifted school would look for as "potential." If your child fits into what they are promoting the more honesty in his/her current behavior will be helpful to you more than anything else in the long run. In the end, you are trying to find a good fit for your child. Any good school should appreciate that more than your trying to fit your child into their school. Plus, don't use the word "bored" ever.;) Hope that helps.

p.s. If your child has a lot of extracurriculurs or interests, I wouldn't be afraid to write "see Addendum A, B..." on the line and attach a sheet (or however how many you need) to the app.
