Seriously! She is just awsome. She is one of the people who I know i will have in my corner when advocating for DD. Today she asked me to change storytimes I bring DD to, because she is "afraid DD is going to get very frusterated in that group." She needs to be in with the older kids is what she said. Also our library does not lend out puzzles and games, however today she took me to her cabnit full and told me to take what ever I wanted to home for Ansley to use and said "I ocassionally do this with people in your circumstances" So DD now has some more puzzles to do and some sequencing and pattern games to do. DD is over the moon smile Can I just say again, I LOVE our librarian.

That's really, really cool of her! Is it a public library?

Yes, she's our main cildren's library. We moved her a few monts ago and she right away after watching DD told me how advanced she is and discussed the school system lack of options for a child like DD and is putting me in contact with some gifted advocates in the area. She is great!

How wonderful. I often think how lucky we are to have the library. We get so many books and help too. I often thought I should bring in a bouquet of flowers sometime.

We have two local libraries with children's programs, we're inbetween. One that we went to first is terrible (quiet, severe, slow paced reading of dull stories) and the other is wonderful (puppets, enthusiasm, children's names all known by librarians). We feel so lucky to have such a resource, and free. We go all the time.

I even was able to ask the librarians there about that town's schools -- they go to preschools and elementary schools doing their "show", they have a unique perspective getting to compare all the schools.

Kudos to your librarian! I was a librarian before I had my ds and I can tell you it is a hard but rewarding job. Let her know you appreciate her! She sounds like a special lady. My child was been going to the library since he was a baby. They have a "Books and Babies" program at my library.
