    She has to at least pause before answering a question.
    She's no longer napping between problems.
    She's not finished writing the answer before I read the problem.
    She's generally happier.
    She's back to "high-fiving" during math.

    I think we've struck gold here.

    How about you? How can you tell when your child is finally being challenged by the right level curriculum?

    She now says math and spelling are her favorite subjects shocked ...before it was "I hate math!"

    She keeps on going after completing her assigned work.

    When she makes a mistake she no longer gets so frustrated that she gives up.

    She reminds me that she hasn't done her challenging math for the day.

    It's good to be in the zone of proximal development! smile

    He is willing to try new challenges that appear difficult.
    He is willing for his friends to see him do 'oddball' activities like Solving the Rubix Cube.
    He is experiencing some frustration, and learning to handle it well.
    Social life is going well!

    So far the only time I have been able to tell she's been working at the right level is when she went to a gifted camp this summer at a local college, it was only for week (they have 4 weeks available) everyday she came home happy and tired. She also kept asking if she could go all 4 weeks next summer. smile
