Our local school district uses ITBS and CogAT for the gifted program testing. I may be able to get them done...not sure yet as the person I need to talk to wasn't in the office. Scores for these tests are used to qualify kids for University of Washington's summer program...so that would be a step in the right direction if I can get the school district to do it.
Sign up your child for a talent search using the Explore. Since you homeschool you can do the referral. I signed up GS last Feb, no one verified he had qualifying scores on his state achievement tests, or other qualifying test scores. Going with an achievement test first will give you valuable information for education purposes, and if they qualify for DYS, you might feel it's more important to get the IQ testing then.
