We just moved to our area for DH's job and I took DD to her first ped appointment with her new doc. It was just a get to know you appointment since I didn't want the first time we saw him to be when she was sick, and he is AWSOME! He spent over 45 mins with her and said he completely agreed with what her last ped said at her 2 year appointment. That she is extreamly gifted and said that currently he feels she is on a 5 year old/ kindergarten level on most things cognitivly.

He also told me (which I have repeatedly heard from others who know dd) that he does not believe our school system here will be a good fit for her. He said we used to have an awsome self contained gifted program that 2 of his kids were able to go through years ago, but then budgets cut came and there is no longer a gifted program here or "many options for gifted children, much less extreamly gifted children". Sigh, well at least dh has a good job which I am thankful for and I love our new ped. smile
