My dd6 still likes to play in the water. The cat dish was always behind a baby gate, but she played in the sink (still does) a lot. You can give your dc a bowl of water on the shower floor to play in.

Here's some fun ideas for little ones with water:

put some water and dish soap in the sink with some cups and little plastic animals to play with

we use to have a big pot of dirt a distance from the house I would let my son put some water in it and dig around in the mud. Plan a bath after.

Paint the drive with bug paint brushes and water.

Your post brought back some fun memories. thank you.
