End of last year we got a IEP after school was done for the year. I had made lots of suggestions in writing thru the year, to the teacher and school Psychologist. I think that they considered my ideas.
The IEP team met to make the plan. The first time we heard the plan, it was like this do you like the plan? ok sign. This seemed ok at the time. I knew the plan was flexible. Then I went to ask a question to the school Psychologist and she was gone for the year. The teacher actually gave me her home number in case I had any questions. I called her once about something during the summer and she overcame my concerns. Overall this is pretty good considering we are breaking new ground with this stuff at our school.
I'm just wondering would it be unusual for a parent to get an IEP in advance so they could come to a meeting with questions/concerns? It seems like this would be a good idea, so I'm familar with what they are suggesting.
