I took DS7 to this show twice (he's been mad into dinosaurs since he was 1 1/2). I managed to win the second set of tickets in a count-the-dinosaurs-in-the-magazine contest last Christmas.

It's well worth it! He absolutely loved, loved it, and so did I. His brother went the first time and he loved it too. The show is very well done and it's fun to see the life-sized and near-life-sized dinosaurs (I don't think the sauropods are made to full scale).

My biggest piece of advice is to bring earplugs. It's a very loud show.

If you think your son won't get scared, sit kind of close but not too low down. We were at brachiosaurus's eye level the first time and way up high the second time. It was definitely more fun up close.

We saw it last year. Even as an adult, I LOVED it!! Dino-freak, DS (who was 3 at the time) was too young and pretty freaked out. I think the noise-level certainly contributed to his fear. So, I second the motion for ear plugs!!

    Hmm..

I am concerned about the sound and the size, given that Mr W is 19 mos, but Mr W loves horses and cows and goes with us to watch football at a local eatery every Sunday and deals well with the crowds at the mall..

He loves dinosaurs and saw me looking at this trailer and cannot get enough of it either .. I played it pretty loud on the HD tv for him..

Maybe we can prep him beforehand by looking over the website and taking him to the movie theater...

The top section of the arena is less scary because it's a lot further away from the action.

I would not take a child under 5. Especially if they are sensitive.

We took the whole family last year except for DS2. Then DS5 and DD4 loved it. We were in the upper levels. It was awesome. Not too loud or too scary at all for them.

Mr W ( 21 mos ) had a great time this Saturday!! It was not too loud for him. He sat through the whole show.

But the Ft Worth air show today was too loud - esp the F18 Superhornet. We moved out to the parking area for the F16 demo and he enjoyed the rest of the show just fine.
