Yesterday, DD3.5 made a HUGE leap with her confidence that made me so proud, I actually cried!!

She read from a book, word for word, completing sentences to a story!

I know she has been capable of reading for quite some time, but DD is quite the perfectionist. She will not attempt anything that she does not think she can do right the first time. But yesterday, she actually made the leap to try and read full sentences - and she pulled it off!! I even got it on camera to show her Daddy (and any educator in the near future who may not believe DD can read - haha).

So... this is the only place I can go to say how proud I am about DD without sounding like I'm trying to brag. Thanks guys!! smile

    Yay! That's wonderful wink

And you can even brag, too, if you want. We have a special bragging thread!

That is wonderful! It's ard when they are such perfectionists. Ansley won't try if she thinks she can't do it.

DD3.5 is just like that - so much a perfectionist that she won't try anything. She just started pedaling her tricycle a few weeks ago even though we knew she could do it sooner if she just practiced. I know she can write if she just tried. It frustrates me that she will not try anything without knowing she can do it because I fear she won't have the stamina to work at something that doesn't come easily to her. I was like that as a kid -- and I'm still like that although I'm working to change.
