O.K, I've tried to contact Davidson, but so far I haven't heard from them yet. Meanwhile, I'm hoping someone can help me with my questions.

On their application form, Part6; Signatures area, they ask whether "I have/ have not consulted a psychologist or psychiatrist with regard to any form of inappropriate behavior or other psychological problem with respect to my child", and if indicated "have", it says, "a complete copy of any and all psychological reports must be submitted."

Well, we consulted a number of psychologists / specialists when my DS8 was 3 years old, because he was totally nonverbal and showing some inappropriate behaviors.(OCD type)
He was subsequently diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
My question is, do I have to submit all his psychological reports? He has been given a tons of IQ and behavioral assessments over the years since his diagnosis in order to monitor his overall development. My concern is that since those IQ tests, specially earlier ones indicate more like "evidence of cognitive disabilities"(borderline mental retardation range because of his lack of speech...) than "extreme intellectual abilities", I am wondering if they would somehow affect on his eligibility to the program.

I am so nervous about the whole thing!
Any comment, or suggestion would be appreciated.

You can always explain anything that needs explanation. I am SURE that your child wouldn't be the first to be misunderstood or to be on the AS spectrum. I definitely don't think any of that would affect elegibility.

But I'd probably wait to hear from the staff before I did anything if I were you. You want to be sure you're following the rules of the application. I'm reluctant to advise you about what they'd need or not need.

If it helps, they really are trying to get a true picture of your child. Don't worry that they're going to be looking for a reason to exclude him. That's NOT what they're about. I promise!

Kriston, Thank you for your reassurance. I guess I need to be patient and just wait to hear from them.

I sympathize: patience doesn't happen to be my particular virtue either! wink
