My DS4 is part of a program that is known as Focus. It is a program to support and follow the development of children that were born drug addicted. As part of this, he was asked to do a psych eval today because he is now 4.

As part of the eval he was given two sections of the WPPSI. The pschologist told me I had better get ready for a wild ride! He hit the ceiling on the two sections given! I must just be walking around oblivious! She started to explain advocating etc as I stood there shaking my head. Puzzled by my response, I had to explain DS6. She said that it figured that DS4 would also be gifted then at which point I had to explain that DS4 is adopted and completely unrelated.

My life just keeps getting stranger!!

LOL WOW!!!! At least you're experienced now! And I must say, for a drug-addicted baby to now be living up to his genetics, you've must have done a mighty fine job of caring for him!

It takes BOTH nature and nurture!!!!

Wow, Shari. I am constantly amazed every time I look at your signature line, and this only increases my amazement. As Dazey says, you must be doing a terrific job!

Wow, that is amazing. Your life is a wild ride in itself.

My dd9 has a friend who was born drug addicted and then adopted out of foster care, she is bright but has ADHD and other issues and was doing terribly at school, until her mom put her in an arts academy. She discovered that she has lots of artistic abilities and is now thriving.

What a fantastic story. I would never have believed it but recently met a similar family (not quite as big as yours) with two independently adopted children and both are identified gifted.

You must be a great mum (or mom - sorry don't speak American:)

Haha, Shari, I believe there is a higher power than the local childrens service and judge that places some of these children in the homes they need.
Your little guy must be firmly bonded to you for the psychologist not to realize he was adopted. Good job!
