    Hi again,
I am looking for a bit of "Dottie Magic" to help interpret ds7:11 WISC-IV scores.
    Sum Composite
    (VCI) 56 152
    (PRI) 46 133
    (WMI 30 129
    (PSI) 29 126
    (FSIQ 161 146

    Verbal Comprehension Subtest Scores Summary
    Similarities 34 19
    Vocabulary 43 18
    Comprehension 29 19

    Perceptual Reasoning Subtest Scores Summary
    Block Design 43 16
    Picture Concepts 22 17
    Matrix Reasoning 21 13

My question: Is the FSIQ the figure you look at when determining IQ minimums for admission to DYS? Is the extended scale a factor here? (I read the Tech report #7 and can't make sense of it.) or does it really matter if he meets the minimums?

Thanks for all of your help. We have WJIII scheduled for next week.

    Dottie,
The raw scores are listed below. We are told that GAI is 147, but that doesn't seem right. Can you tell? Even with you revealing the source of your magic, it is still Greek to me. (my son is adopted, so I don't have his gifted gene!) wink

    VCI raw score scaled score
    similar. 34 19
    Vocab 43 18
    Comp 29 19

    PRI
    block 43 16
    picture 22 17
    matrix 21 13

Thanks for the math. I don't know where the discrepancy lies.

I am really confused about what his score is.

Do you look at the FSIQ Composite score to determine the overall IQ?

I don't think the psych is going to use any extended scoring,

so is his IQ 146 (his sum and composite scores are listed at the beginning of this thread?)

    Thanks for your thoughts.

Great! I am content with that.

I only wanted to quantify my son's intelligence once. I don't like the numbers game.

I understand a standard is needed and we are doing this in order to seek out the services of DYS. I'll keep you posted.

And, thank you again for all of your help. Like you said, I am simply along for the ride with my sweet boy.

I am sure every parent feels this way...(but maybe even more so an adoptive parent)...he is truly a treasure to me.
