I'm finally reading this thread as we saw the movie yesterday. I loved Star Trek as a kid, I have to have seen every episode several times. I never really got into the movies or later shows, I think it was a time in my life when I didn't watch t.v. very much.
I loved, the movie, Grinity's Onion spoof was hilarious! I really appreciated the creativity of it's premise of baby Spock, Kirk, Uhuru, Bones, etc.
I definitely got a warm fuzzy watching it, brought back a lot of good childhood memories. I noticed that some of the sound effects were the same from the old show at particular points, thought that was a nice touch.
We did bring DD9 and DD6, but it was way too intense for DD6. DH had to take her out of the theatre several times.
Interestingly, she IS a roller coaster fanatic. Rode her first coaster at five, EXACTLY, tall enough and rode every single coaster in the place.
