Percentile ranks do not tell you in an absolute terms how well your students are doing, only how well they are doing compared to other students at their grade level. In other words, normative information tells you nothing about students mastery of the knowledge, skills, or abilities being measured, only about the relative standing of students compared to one another.
Now if the school would just give us that percentile rather than just the number -- lol!

I hear you and don't know why it has to be so hard to get norms. Grrr!

Some options are to ask the school directly for the percentiles, ask CTY if you can just send the Lexile or

No we're testing through CITY (Center for Innovative and Talented Youth) in Denver. It is currently on the University of Denver campus, but they are breaking off from DU and going to form their own entity separate from a university.

I did send dd's literacy teacher and email last night asking if we can get a report with the score and percentile on it.

So, I got an email back from her literacy teacher and she did come up with a report that has a percentile on it that she will be sending home with dd. 1468 is apparently in the 99th percentile for a 6th grader.

    and most likely >99%!
Hope that does the trick for the talent search eligibility.
