Our daughter scored great in the ITBS Test and very low in the CogAT test. I was wondering if this is common - she did mention that she had challenges understanding the pronunciation of the test administrator for CogAT. Below are her percentile scores in each of the tests. Does anyone on this board has any opinion - should we request for a retest?

    ITBS - Reading (99); Maths (98)
    CogAT - Verbal (83); Quantitavie (71); Non-verbal (87); Composite (87).

    Thanks,
    Mike

Thanks Dottie! Could you provide some more information on individualized IQ testing - where can it be done, any websites, costs etc.

Thanks so much - this was very helpful!!

I am not Dottie (by any means!) but I can help there, Mike.
We live in suburbia, IQ testing here was $350 for one child, the other child had it done for free by the county. My youngest had the WPPSI, which is until about age 6, I hear, the oldest had the Weschler IV, which is from about 6-teens.

We had similar scores in elementary school. The ITBS was always at 99th percentile for the up grade, but cogat was always low. Suddenly in middle school, she moved her CoGAT scores from a low 70th percentile or so to 99th percentile in only a year.
