Does anyone know of an affordable way of having testing done in SoCal? DD's completed the DORA and DOMA (and I know those don't really "count"), but given her scores on those assessments and her abilities in general, I'd like to get a better picture. We homeschool; so there is no urgent pressing need for the testing, however, I feel that the resources I have will become sorely lacking in the not so distant future. So, I'd like a way to arm myself when I approach various programs, etc. to request her admittance.

I'm trying to "plan ahead" as best I can. If she's reading and comprehending on a 3rd grade level and doing multiplication and division (including mixed fractions, etc),calculating things like tax, hypothesizing on co-exisiting alternate realities (which by the way she plans on proving when she is older, while she simultaneously rises to fame as a Rock Star) all while (almost) 5 years old and not even "officially" old enough for Kindergarten...

...well, let's just say that I wasn't expecting to need 3rd grade material for another 4 years and, yet, here I am with a kid who's speeding through it. If she keeps her current trajectory and velocity...

    What then?

    Mizzou,

I would check out the local colleges. Many of them have Graduate students that can do the testing. USC has a huge Psych department and i'm betting they can hook you up.

    Good Luck!
