We had a beautiful snow storm blow through yesterday. We're in the middle of an area that got 8-10 inches grin No school today for GS9, so we homeschool on days like this! No TV until normal TV hours, recess is playing outside in the snow with his dog, he can choose between his Singapore Challenging Word problems(math), his logic problem book, recreational reading, music(flute or piano), and I'll throw in some home economics and have him fix lunch! Meanwhile, I'm working(except when I'm on here, so I better go!).

And when he comes in from the snow, he'll get hot chocolate. Maybe we'll make cookies later and he can get hot cookies after his afternoon recess.

Just think, these blissfully fun days are what Kriston and the other homeschoolers get to experience EVERY DAY! Hahaha, ducking and running for cover now!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Oh, you're SO funny!

Actually, on snow days, we usually take the day off so my kids can go play with the neighborhood kids. If we don't get a better offer, we do school as usual (more or less). But we pretty much always get a better offer from the neighbor kids!

(That's assuming no one has the flu, of course--DS7 and I had fevers last week during our snow break, and DS4 has a fever today. Bad timing! If he were well, we'd have gone skiing with pre-K friends! frown *sigh*)

Since I'm supposed to be working I can't take him anywhere, and the nearest neighbor kid close to his age (that I'd allow him to play with)is several miles away. I'm not as picky as that sounds, we just don't have many people within 3 miles of us.

I did dig out my snowshoes and let him play outside with those. It's not the best snow for showshoes but he got to see what it was like walking in them.

I was just thinking that this "homeschool gig" is really fun! But I suppose the honeymoon is fleeting.

We got a dusting here with some icing so the dds are home. This morning we worked on writing with dd7 (she has visual and motor planning issues) and dd9 worked on her math.

Now they are working together with the snap circuit set and contemplating what they kind of gadget they can invent!

What a great day! I think we will do some baking too!

Oh, don't get me wrong: there's a LOT to love about homeschooling. smile

I just don't want you to think that it's all warm cookies and hot chocolate. wink

Did someone say warm cookies and hot chocolate? Maybe I should consider homeschooling after all. Sounds good to me, LOL

No, I DON'T want you to think that!

Though I guess it depends upon how you run your homeschool. Lorel, LMom? Are homemade cookies on the daily agenda for you? Maybe I'm not doing it right...

    :p
