    Well, it's off by one month if you read it wrong there. And as I said, I never use individual months, only 6-month intervals. I'm okay if you get that close!

    Frankly, I've been doing it this way for so long, I'm unlikely to change unless it's REALLY going to tick someone off. It's habit now.

    For posts, I like 4y6m a lot. Nice and precise. I'm also fond of DSalmost5. (see below)

    When speaking in real life, I'll either say "four a
    half" or "almost five". It depends on the context. (I've noticed DS does this as well, but for different reasons)

    For example if a random person asks me I say "four a
    half". But when I am researching activities I say "almost five"
    since he can be more verbal, mature etc. than the average child of 4y9m. And he is on the tall side too. In my mind he has been "almost 5" for at least 6 months now. wink

    Asynchrony is such a hoot!
