Am I getting silly or is this starting to feel like a Seinfield episode?

If instead of "spongeworthy" we inserted "Magic School Bus worthy"?

    Har!

Well, Scholastic just e-mailed me about my order. I figured it was coming since they didn't add tax to my order, and they needed to.

Here's hoping I get it! eek

This was from a local homeschool Yahoo group regarding a Scholastic order.
    Quote
I spent 2 hours picking out 23 things that I needed for just started
out homeschooling. When I placed my order they said I could not order
because I was a home school that was not listed with them. They said
that it would take 6 weeks to get on there list and that is if they
would let me, because they do not let just every home school on the
list, and by that time the sale would be over. Did anyone else have
this problem? Is there anyway of someone that is on this list place
the order for me. I will pay for it, it is just that I could really
use the things that I picked out.

ROFL! Magic School Bus Worthy! All these SNAFUs remind me of the car rental episode when Jerry says, I see. You are able to take the reservation. Well, the reservation keeps the car here... Or something similar... Scholastic is able to take the order but...

Love Seinfeld, BTW... Lots of 'isms' still creep into daily life.

For awhile there, DH and I had Harry Potterisms...
We knew someone whose personality made other feel as if they were hanging around a deatheater... Sucked the life right out of you...

I have a friend whose DH is like that! <shudder> I'd have liked to have invited her to my birthday party, but I didn't want him to come. I was feeling bad about it, but my DH told me that if the deatheater was invited, DH himself wouldn't come. So there you have it! Easy choice!

It does seem like Scholastic has made their lives much harder than necessary and ours much more disappointing than they it had to be!

I did ask why 1/3 of my order was cancelled, since that's what the subject line said on the e-mails I got about it. "Not cancelled," the woman replied, "just no longer in stock, sold out."

    So it's not a conspiracy, just a you-know-what-poor system. <smirk>

As Jerry would say, You are good at taking the reservation... Well, the reservation is supposed to keep the car here... grin

I will say that by the time I got to order, several books were out of stock that I would have loved to have.

Yes, we try to avoid deatheaters at all cost...Especially at festive gatherings!

I know, right?!? Count them, allow that many to be ordered, and then tell us that they're sold out.

It doesn't SEEM all that hard...

I tried to order! How rude. Apparently selling to me would cause legal issues? She said the authors of the products wanted to ensure only teachers had access to their products. My child is also too young for anything they offer if she is not yet in school. frown Oh well.
