LOL, I am not smart enough either. Maybe DS's could figure something out together. I may send my DS if you start up the school though. I have been spending all my time and energy into figuring out what to do for K and about to switch pre-k's for the rest of the year as well. How are things going with the schooling for your son though, regarding the school you were looking into? We have some plans to go to some private school open houses...but will probably end up going with our local public school and spending some money to enrich him on the side as private schools are WAY to unaffordable, especially since we have another child as well that is starting to show some gifted signs as well. Good luck!

oh it's not great. But he just got home from school and seems happy because he has a project to do on his computer.....

the private school I don't think is going to work out....

we are looking at homeschooling.... which i am scared of.

But it is becoming the "best of the worst"

Good luck, I hope something works out. Sorry the private school doesn't look like it will. I am glad he came home happy today. The future is a bit uncertain to us right now as well. I plan to visit his home school next week where I talked to the principal last week and she said "well my daughters were reading at 2 and they both went through this district and did fine." Well that's great, but they aren't my son and it isn't just about reading ability. There is a lot more to it than that. Anyhow, hopefully it will be a decent visit. We will see.

for me it's money.... or the lack of it.

But I think I might be able to do it...... maybe.... it would be hard and hard sometimes on ds7, because he would have to quietly park himself while one of his parents worked.....

    but it might work out

one other thing.... it is offical, there are no school for gifted kids in NY state north of NYC.

Any friends around you could share childcare duties with? Sometimes trading hours works, and it's free for both of you. Especially look at that afterschool period with someone whose child is in a traditional school, even, when you could get your DS some social time and get some alone time for you.

    Just a thought.

I read an article about a family that started a gifted school. They wrote about how they did it and would love to help any one else do the same.
