Did anyone see The Man Who Saved Christmas? I thought it was a good movie and even the kide liked it (7 & 9). It is the story of the man who invented erector sets. It is supposed to be based on the true story....with some portic license.

We saw Fred Claus and didn't care for that at all.

We just went to the library and even with a pretty decent line up of movies the dds picked out several "bill Nye the Science Guy" - go figure.

I finally saw KungFu Panda on DVD. I took the time myself when it came to theaters and sent DH and DD.

Who can top that one?

We saw Kung Fu Panda last summer. I thought it was cute!

We watched Elf on TV the other night and went to see The Tales of Despereaux on Friday. I wasn't impressed but my kids liked it. They said it was nothing like the book (I haven't read it) but they enjoyed it for what it was.

Is this movie dark? I have thought of taking my 2 yr old but don't know if it would be appropriate.

She has seen Kung Fu Panda and loved it.

It is VERY dark. I would say it would depend on the 2 year old. Some would be able to handle it but some wouldn't. My kids would have been scared at 2 and honestly I was surprised it got a G rating. I think PG would have been more appropriate, but that is just my opinion.

We found "Roving Mars" on DVD at the library. It's a documentary about the robots that landed on Mars and explored it. We had seen it previously in IMAX, so watching it on the TV was a little weird but Pud loves it.

For the whole family: Wall-E. Both DS3 and DS9 and DH42 loved it.

DH and I also enjoyed watching Memento recently. The main character wakes up and realizes he has no recent memories. The story is very fractured -- but intentionally so --- and very well-crafted. I think it got an Oscar for editing.

Bonus for Grinity/Trinity -- stars Carrie Ann Moss, whom I always pictured when I saw Grinity's old screen name -- so I imagined her looking cool, leaping through windows, evading agents, as she advised wisely and supported admirably!

I'm movie-clueless, so I have no idea if this one's out on video yet, but the boys and I loved "Ratatouille." There's a flood scene that was too intense on the big screen for my sensitive DS3, but it *was* his first movie.

It's a great story about creativity and being drawn to a calling even when the odds are against you. Good for GT kids! And just amazing visually. Two thumbs up!
