Sure. I'd recommend that you poke around on the website first: www.covd.org. I'm far from an expert in this--we've been in to see the D.O. just once (and once more just to pick up the glasses). But there are articles and things on the website that might get you started.

I'd also search for "covd" in old threads here on the forum. A surprising number of us here have kids who have vision issues who have benefited from the services of a D.O. (at least I find the numbers surprising...), so there have been quite a few threads about it in the past 6 months to a year. If memory serves (and it usually doesn't!) there were some other links in those older threads that you might find useful, too.

Many here are far more versed in the issues than I am. I've pretty much shared all that I know. But hopefully others will chime in.

I will say that I'm a big believer in listening to your mom gut. If you think something isn't quite right, it usually isn't. I'd rather be thought to be one of "those" moms--which I was for being worried that DS4 wasn't reading yet--than to let something go that could be handled much more easily early in the child's life. But please do know that I was "there-there'd" by my pediatrician and even a couple of friends who should know better.

OTOH, if your mom gut is not having any issue, please don't let me worry you about it. If no warning bells are clanging for you, then I'm probably off the mark!

UPDATE*** She im now positive that she knows WAY more then she lets on shes just hiding it as far as i can tell she isnt reading yet but she does apear to know letters, letter sounds, and which words begin with which letters she also apears to know more about numbers then i thought while she still is not willing to count 1:1 on her own she makes me count thing with/for her (i know she is capable just unwilling) i can hold up my fingers and say get this many blocks and then put my hand down and she will bring me that exact number of blocks (she has a great memory so this is not really counting) we also have been playing an addition game (me helping with the counting)and she now understands the concept of adding but still isnt counting

(lol BTW not hothousing just a homeschooler trying to figure out what my child is capable of has been slow going i acctually do very little teaching because she is unresponsive to teaching we mostly just play little games that help me evaluate what she has learned on her own)
