Rock climbing. It is a deliberate, thinking person's sport. Builds strength, balance, flexibility, and agility. It's fun!

Not in this family smile You would have to see DS6 during his gymnastics class to get the idea. He can ski, roller blade, and such but to be honest he is not even average in most of the sports.

Rock climbing? Now that would be a disaster. He is afraid of heights. DS4 can climb much better and with much more confidence than DS6.

My experience has been yes, maybe gt doesn't equal an all out star on the field, but I think it can help strategy wise. I think there might be some energy-level correlation too.

I have sometimes stood out in sports with little or no experience in a sport, I remember the pe teacher in elementary moving me over to play basketball with the boys since I had what I guess were acceptable skills in that area - otherwise I didn't really play at all. I enjoyed the non-stop movement.

My dh was very good in soccer, ds loves dance and is pretty good at it too, a non-stop mover. Dd2.5 shows signs of being a more natural athlete than all of us - she just has this muscle-y compact strong strong body, climbs everywhere, can't stop moving if music is going, etc. (don't know where they get that non-stop moving thing!)

Ditto. I haven't seen much documented on this either.

Your DDs sound like a joy to watch!
