Thank you...I knew I could get support here. I think I am a bit more emotional than usual as I am preggers. So I can say half of me wanted to cry and the other half wanted so reach over the desk and smack her. I wish I knew about the cotton trick ahead of time. She kept doing the whole "all of our students are gifted" thing...."we have LOTS of kids just like her" ugh!

I think this is how my sil feels about sending my dd2 to Kindergarten on time at age 5, not early, just on time. She thinks I need to wait until she is 6 for the simple reason that her kids will be 6 when they go to school and that's the best age for everyone regardless of ability.

At our house we call this the SUV problem. It takes guts to send your 5 year old to kindy when you know that it's full of giant 6 year olds. But it might just be the best thing every for your 5 (or 4) year old.

    ((wink))

No kidding! And to top it off, she is really tiny for her age. Good thing she's tough.

We just went through this with our local school. We decided to pull him out and put him in a private school in our area. They are small and have a 2nd / 3rd split with a gifted program. So he gets the kids his own age and the cirriculum challenge. There are only 10 kids in the class too. Which helps.

We were nervous about the move and the money, but so far (two weeks in) my kid is a different person. He is excited to go to school, please with himself and very eager to learn. We moved him with the thought that we would try the private school, and if that didn't work we would home school.

Hang in there, keep asking for help. I think you will find it.

Ahhh, mom123! You missed a golden opportunity!! wink Everyone knows that pregnant women are hormonally-challenged. You have free license to be as emotional as you want to be, and no one will think ill of you. Of course it works best if you are burstingly nine-months pregnant. LOL! But still. Think of all the great things that you could have said!! Can I hire you out to rant and rave at my school too? wink

(Wanted: pregnant, hormonally-challenged women willing to cry and throttle your school administrator... sounds like a money-making company to me...!!)
