no the public school is sort of done, he goes to a magnet now, it used to taht kids had to test for it, but now it's done by lottery and I guess it's sort of a dumping ground for kids. The district is having a really hard time right now.

Well my husband and I went back to the school today so he could see it. He and I talked about it over lunch and decided to pursue it.

Here is one of the deciding factors, as we were leaving the school I got a call on my cell phone. I never get calls on my cell phone... it was the boy. I let it go to message, frankly because I couldn't find my phone.

I called back he is faking sick so I will come get him.......

If he is faking sick, we have to do something!

Good luck. It hope it works out for you. I know the area private schools that I have looked into for DS, and wanted to advise you to make sure you ask the amount of financial aid. In one private area school they said they can give "up to 25%" which for us was not enough. That seems to be the highest amount that I have heard. I kept wishing they had academic scholarships, for people like us. We are poor but make enough that we may be albe to afford it if we moved and sold everything, and didn't donate money for causes,...so we don't qualify. Of course since DH was laid off we may be able to qualify now, who knows. We are looking into something as well...but unfortunately I have been hearing different things and am not sure the school we are looking at will accomodate him.

We were told have 100%... but they won't talk about financial aid until after they admit him.... they don't want it to be a factor in weather or not they accept a child, they don't want to even discuss it.

But on our end, I told the admissions officer, that he can't go there unless he gets 100% aid. so she seemed to indicate that it wasn't something to worry about, if they decide that he is right for him and he needs 100%, they find the money.

40% of the kids that go there receive aid of some kind, and they have donor that have deep pockets i guess.

hopefully what we have been led to believe is true, it would suck to have them say he can go here, but you have to pay X amount. We don't have X, or Y for that matter.
