DS7 is under stress, yes. Trigeminal nerve is what Dr. said.
The cluster headaches are caused by a nerve trap is how he put it. A loop.

Your post has been very helpful..... we are looking all over the web for pros and cons and while it seems like it may be a logical answer, I am not sure about it.

It seems to me that they should be able to test him blood for melatonin level to see if he needs it. I think this Doctor knows that we are not pill takers, we don't just happily swallow anything that is handed to us and announce were cured. I am going to do more research in it on before I give him anything.

Melatonin is a chemical that is produced and secreted in a gradual way at night to induce sleep. I don't think that you can test for it as it is only produced at night.

If it is trigeminal neuralgia then I have no idea what the link between that and melatonin is.

    Good luck with your search

We've been trying melatonin for the last 6 weeks for un-sleepiness. It has worked great! DS12 is 'slowing down' when he gets tired instead of 'gearing up' for the first time in his life. He seems to be sleeping more soundly as well.

A local friend is sending her child to a sleep clinic so they can observe him at night. Seems that he's been a bad sleeper all his life.

Did you know that not getting enough sleep mimics the symptoms of ADHD during the school day?

I've never hear of it for Migraines, but it seems like a pretty safe supliment, so may be worth a try.

I've taken melatonin for sleeping. I used the sublingual tablet that goes under your tongue. I worked for me, in 15 min more or less. About migraines, my son claims that his have never returned since he had his wisdom teeth taken out.
