    Anyone here ever run across writing prompts for gifted middle schoolers? I need a list so I don't have to investigate it :-)
    I am having my kids write something about each book they read this summer, and I just don't want this to be a book review each week.

    One idea is to use the spark notes (online) or clift notes for relevent questions. I never realized that they weren't just for cheating, but actually are meant to be used as a tool for catching some of the "below the surface" and "backround" stuff. I sure enjoyed reading the one for "The Dubliners"
