‘If a student chooses to come to an institution, they agree to abide by the rules’: Can colleges force students to get COVID-19 vaccines?by Jillian Berman Updated March 31, 2021 MarketWatch In an article by Jillian Berman updated March 31, 2021, MarketWatch summarizes the current status of COVID vaccine requirements on campus for the upcoming fall 2021 semester. College-bound students and their parents may be watching closely to see what decisions various colleges and universities make in the coming months. Some notable points include: Rutgers University is among the first college to publicly require students enrolled for Fall 2021 to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
"...As an Emergency Use Authorized measure, the current COVID-19 vaccinations may not be mandated for employees or students,” the University of Oklahoma said in a statement.
At Rutgers, students can seek a religious or medical exemption from the vaccine requirement, and students participating in fully online or continuing education programs won’t have to abide by the mandate. MarketWatch, published by Dow Jones, is politically neutral and has passed fact-checking. I heard that many universities and colleges will require a vaccine for in class learning.
On another note, the head of Coursera was on CNBC today and said that they were doing more and more joint ventures to offer a full degree program at half price on Coursera.

Coursera IPO'd this week! Excited to see how greater capitalization will put pressure on universities to convert their legacy systems. Udemy also has plans to go public this year.
What is to give light must endure burning.

More colleges move to make vaccines mandatory for studentsby Jessica Dickler April 7, 2021 CNBC Last month, Rutgers was the first to announce that it is requiring students to take the COVID-19 vaccine before returning to campus in fall 2021, now more top universities are following. “Medical and religious exemptions will be accommodated, but the expectation will be that our campuses and classrooms will overwhelmingly consist of vaccinated individuals, greatly reducing the risk of infection for all,” Cornell President Martha Pollack and Provost Michael Kotlikoff said in a statement.
