Hi everyone. I'm on a public computer so can't post long (better for you guys!). MrWiggly saw Dr. Ruf on Monday, we reviewed results with her on Tuesday. She is amazing! It was definitely time and money well spent. But I am overwhelmed and we need so much time to think things over and decide what to do next. She provided a nice little checklist of "what to do next" but we have to fill in the blanks with decisions!
MrWiggly has tested on the SB5 in the 99th%. I almost fell off the chair. She places him as a level 4 on her LOG scale. She noted that he is a level 4 because he has variability in skill areas and is profoundly gifted in math and visual spatial skills and relatively less so in other areas. (Level 5s are those all around profoudly gifted kids). I am still trying to comprehend the meaning of the scores and keep looking at the report not really grasping the numbers. Dr. Ruf said that it takes, on average, about 2 years for parents to really believe her when she identifies a level 4 or 5 kid. Hopefully we will "get it" sooner than that.
We need to make big decisions about school. She was excellent at showing us the impact of schooling, personality and intellect on the big picture. Not sure what we will do but we have learned that where he is will probably never work. No emergency she said, but things we need to do.
Well, I'm going on too long (my ENFJ thing, I guess!). I'll chat more later when we get home over the weekend. I'm looking forward to LOTS of support from you guys!!!!
