    Considering applying for DYS for my 3rd grader. He meets the WISC-IV testing criteria via his GAI, so my concern is about my part of the application.

    What type of developmental milestones are they looking for the parent to describe? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    I think that the key is that the child meets the qualifications. What you write just gives Davidson "the big picture." I think that for that question, I looked at each of my kiddos and considered what about their development might make them differ from the norm? In DD's case, it was her extreme verbal abilities and curiosity. With DS, it was his early reading and his precocious math ability. What I feel was key, however, was less what I wrote, than their qualifying scores. HTH! Best of luck!

    Thanks for the reply! Do DD and DS mean Davidson daughter and davidson son respectively?

    It's funny you ask that. Sometimes I see DYS in passing, and it seems to mean both 'dear youngest son' and 'Davidson Young Scholar.' smile
