    Hello all,

Does anyone have any advice on helping my second grader prepare for the winter math MAP test? It's important to really knock this one out of the park.

We've been using Khan Academy topics, following NWEA's guidelines.

I'd like to particularly focus on Measurement and Data. But we've gone through all the relevant Khan topics through third grade, and I don't think going further than that will be helpful. If anyone has suggestions for other related support in that area, that would be helpful.

Are there any resources out there to take an actual MAP practice test? I think that would really help pin down which specific areas we need to focus on.

    Thanks so much!

As you probably know, NWEA MAP is an adaptive achievement test. Typically, we don't prepare for it (I have 2 children who take it 3 times a year), but try to focus on always learning something new...which seems to work for them.

Is your DC taking K-1/2 or 2-5, because they are different tests? Our schools give all of the second graders the 2-5, but some schools give their second graders the K-1/2.

    I don't know for sure, but I bet it's 2-5.
