Thanks for the detailed info on color-blindness, Tigerle! My maternal grandmother is color-blind, so my mother is a carrier and my brother is color-blind. I have a 50-50 chance of being a carrier, but neither of my kids appear to be color blind. My brother was in high school when he learned that concrete is not pink.

My son also learn shapes much early than color, he knows shape in 15months (he don know how to name them but can distinguish them), but knows color in 19months, much later than I expected. Can he play the color sorting toys correctly? or he can't "name" the color only? May be he is playing attention of other details other than colors when he see an object.
