There is a thread running right now on Quora discussing characteristics of so-called "scary smart" people (http://www.quora.com/What-are-the-distinguishing-characteristics-of-scary-smart-people). It is fun reading for this mom still trying to get over an "intoxicating but exhausting" weekend with DS7, followed by loss of a precious hour of sleep. I pulled a few nuggets below. Ring any bells anybody?

"Intoxicating but exhausting"

I've noticed that they have a ravenous curiosity. They make close to zero logical fallacies when analyzing a problem or developing an argument. They are very attentive, but if you bore them, they'll tune out.

They: 1) focus and absorb without distraction; 2) have excellent memory recall access; and, 3) have rapid multidimensional association by pattern recognition and analogy.

They see layers of things that you didn't even know existed.

They are perceptive in virtually all moments.
