My six year old son recently took the RIAS and his CIX Score is 153, VIX Score is 155 and NIX score is 132. My husband and I have not met with his school yet, but based on his scores, the school's psychologist recommended that he should be placed into a gifted program. We will be meeting with the school counselor soon, what questions should we ask? Also does anyone have any recommendations regarding next steps?
    Thank You,
    N

What are your greatest priorities for your son? Let those guide your conversation. I know that with my own children my highest priorities are in character development, fitting in, and their overall happiness.
I want my children to love to learn, to have peers and real relationships with friends, and for them to be able to look back on their childhoods as happy ones. When searching for schools for each of them, we take these things into account heavily.
Let the school counselor know what it is that you really want for your child and that will be a perfect first step.

    Welcome!

The Davidson Database has great articles on many topics, including school selection and advocacy
    - Choosing the right school for your gifted child,
    - How to evaluate and choose a school,
    - preparing and holding an effective school meeting.

Here is an interesting introductory article titled Parents: What You Can Do!
