I just have to share this really cool website/app that my kids have been using in school. It provides five or so versions of the same article in a range of lexile levels. It is supposedly grades 3-12. However, the actual lexile levels vary for each article and they don't specify the max lexile level other than "max" but you get an idea based on all the lexile levels listed below. The kids in my DS/DD's 6th grade class can choose their own versions to read. Obviously, if you have a sufficiently advance student, the max lexile level is still going to be much lower than their actual tested level but it's a huge improvement over traditional kiddie current event articles.
